Shiurim / Courses

Gemora

Our B'Iyun Shiurim are differentiated into three different levels targeted at the needs of each talmid.

We have three seperate shiurim aimed at different levels.  

  • Gemora with Rashi, Tosfos, Rishonim
  • Gemora with Rashi, Tosfos
  • Gemora with Rashi

The shiur is comprised of specially designed notes to help guide each talmid  through the sugya in a step-by-step fashion.

In addition to this, we also have a daily interactive Bekius shiur.

Chumash

During the Chumash Rashi Seder Talmidim go through the weekly Parsha with Meforshim together with their Chavrusah.

Halocho

We have a daily Mishna Berura Shiur which helps bochurim understand the different halochos and how they affect their lives.

Mishnayos

We are currently going through two seperate masechtos with a mishnayos shiur almost every day.

Iyun Tefilla

In our Iyun Tefilla shiurim, the talmidim are going through the Tefillos and their hashkafic aspects in their daily lives.

We also explore Tefillos that are relevant to that time of year for example:

  • Selichos
  • Yomim Noroim Tefillos
  • Fast days

We also explore in the shiurim what different communities say in the Tefillos.

Shiur Kloli

During our Shiur Kloli once a week, we go through different Torah topics exploring the details behind it.

Sefer Hachinuch

In Sefer Hachinuch we go through the תרי"ג מצוות and discuss as a chabura the different Torah and moral prespectives.

Mussar

The Mussar and Hashkafah shiurim are dedicated to teaching the Talmidim about moral conduct, instruction or discipline, educating oneself on how one should act in an appropriate manner

Life Skills

Our Life Skills curriculum includes:

  • Cognitive thinking skills programme to include critical thinking
  • Learning to analyse and evaluate information to support Talmidims’ learning so that they can make sense of the world around them
  • Devoloping skills in knowing and understanding one's attributes, building confidence & recognising one's self-worth
  • Knowing who to ask for assistance if needed
  • Self-regulation, focus and paying attention, remembering rules and flexible thinking
  • Social inferencing – understanding other people’s perspectives and feelings and the expectations of our parents, Rebbeim, Teachers, Friends
  • Communication - learning how to communicate well and articulate wants and needs to be understood by others
  • Public speaking - developing the ability to share Divrei Torah and ideas in a public setting

Catering Course

This course includes learning about:

  • Food safety and storage
  • Following simple recipes
  • Food hygiene and safety
  • Basic food preparation

IT Curriculum

  • Basic computer skills - word proccessing, emails
  • Understanding the importance of safe use of mobile devices and computers
  • Printing infomation from the computer

Math

  • Time concepts
  • Personal budget
  • Basic finance
  • Shopping - using card or cash
  • Planning and understanding the different calendars and Talmid's own diary

English

  • Communicate effectively in writing
    • e.g. with the ability to produce and write דברי תורה
  • Comprehension of a range of written texts
  • Form-filling
  • Read, write and respond to email correspondence

Construction, Plumbing, Electrics

We currently provide two different courses during our Construction, Plumbing and Electric

The Construction Vocational Taster contains modules in:

  • General construction operations
  • Bricklaying; carpentry and joinery
  • Painting and decorative finishing
  • health and safety in the construction sector
  • Careers in the construction sector

Our Electrics and Plumbing provides useful tools for future needs as Talmidim get older.

In this course Talmidim learn how to do the following tasks:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrics

Health & Wellbeing

  • Personal exercise programme - swim, cycle, hike or gym
  • Personal hygiene
  • Healthy behaviours
  • independent living skills, i.e personal laundry, keeping tidy and how to live and co-exist with others in a clean healthy environment
  • Local independent travel by foot and public transport
  • Incentive programmes with monthly trips to develop achdus, bulid confidence and to help our Talmidim understand better our history and heritage

Therapies

  • Therapeutic input is based on individual talmid's EHCP, medical and therapist reports
  • Support for mental health and emotional wellbeing based on professional reports and recommendations

Music

Our Talmidim learn how to use different music equipment and use skills learnt to advance their skills and make their own music
